I cycled from Creston to Salmo over Kooteney Pass, 1774m (5820 feet).   Split stats at summit: Distance: 38.18 KM Time: 2:20:15 Average: 15.9 KM/hr).   I stopped at Scottie's RV Park and Campground, E-mail: scotties@kootenay.com .   Salmo is at 663 meters (2175 feet) resulting in an elevation gain of 3645 feet.   I reached a maximum speed of 78 km per hour, the fastest speed I have ever reached on my bike (at that time), on the down hill side of Kooteney pass.
