The elevation gain is the minumum on paper calculation from lowest to highest point.   No dips are included.

I cycled from Chilliwack to Hope.   I had about 3 KM of no shoulder construction road to ride on.   I later found out I had missed seeing the cyclist detour sign.   I took highway 401 exit 170 into Hope to a Subway.   I had a two day family reunion at Kawkawa lake resort before continuing my bike trip.
