The elevation gain is the minimum on paper calculation from lowest to highest point.   No dips are included.

I cycled from Penticton to Tim Horton's on Highway 97, Vernon BC.   There was one substantial hill before Peachland, West Bank, and Vernon.   Questimated 1000 feet of elevation gain.   We stayed at the Polson Park Motel at 3201 - 24th Avenue in Vernon (250.549.2231).
